Robert J. Woolway
Managing Director

Mr. Woolway is a Managing Director of Trinity Capital.  Mr. Woolway has been a successful investment banker for over twenty years and has executed many billions of dollars of a wide variety of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and financing transactions on behalf of corporations and private equity firms.

Prior to joining Trinity Capital in early 2006, he was a Managing Director and head of the financial advisory services of Relational Advisors.  Previously, he was a Managing Director of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in the Los Angeles office where he was responsible for the firm’s investment banking coverage of Western U.S. corporations and financial sponsors.  In the late 1990’s, Mr. Woolway was named head of J.P. Morgan’s Los Angeles office, responsible for investment banking and other activities in the Southwest.  

Mr. Woolway previously served as a Managing Director of Merrill Lynch & Co. where he led investment banking coverage of financial sponsors and several large corporations on the West Coast.  Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Woolway was with Salomon Brothers and worked initially in New York and then for nine years in the Los Angeles Corporate Finance department covering corporations and financial sponsors.

Mr. Woolway began his investment banking career at Dean Witter Reynolds in Los Angeles as a financial analyst following his graduation from Harvard University in 1981 with an A.B. degree with honors in economics.  In 1985, he received an M.B.A. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.

Mr. Woolway serves on the Board of several corporate and non-profit organizations including The Alliance for Childrens’ Rights.
