Trinity Capital Serves as a Financial Advisor in Successful Sale of FoodBrand, LLC to HMS Host
Transaction Overview: FoodBrand, LLC operates or subleases over 100 restaurants in 25 concepts in malls and airports across the country. When shareholders Panda Express, Inc. and The Mills Corporation made the strategic decision to exit the business, they engaged Trinity Capital to conduct a full auction process to achieve the highest value. Trinity sold the business to the HMS Host Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Autogrill S.p.A. of Milan, Italy. “The shareholders of FoodBrand retained Trinity Capital LLC to market a complicated business in transition. Trinity Creates Advisory Board Trinity is pleased to announce the formation of an Advisory Board. This group represents decades of operating experience as well as deep insights and contacts in their respective industries. The Advisory Board will be extremely helpful to Trinity Capital’s professionals and clients. Members are: Lee Cohn Mr. Cohn is recognized as one of the leading experts in restaurant concept development, management and operations. He currently serves as a leading restaurant consultant and advisor, with recent projects including the sale of Mastro’s Steak House Group, creating foodservice facilities for a leading casino in Louisiana and creating a restaurant concept in Hong Kong. Mr. Cohn began his career by co-founding Big 4 Restaurants Inc. Mr. Cohn currently serves on the Board of Directors of Morton’s Restaurant Group, Marie Callendar’s, McCormick & Schmick’s, Quaker Steak and Lube, Mastro’s Steak House Group and Real Food Daily. With over 35 years experience in the industry in a number of executive roles with leading concepts, he is a critical component to Trinity’s efforts in the restaurant sector. Bill Fielding Mr. Fielding is an industry acknowledged expert in the domestic and international food industry, with extensive expertise in the protein sector. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Meyer Natural Foods. Mr. Fielding has served as Chief Operating Officer of Creekstone Farms Premium Beef, President of Farmland Refrigerated Foods, President of ConAgra Fresh Meat, and President of Cargill Inc Meat Sector. With over 25 years experience in key management roles with leading domestic and international companies, he has been instrumental in developing Trinity’s extensive engagements in the food sector. Ben Hirst Mr. Hirst has served in senior roles with some of the nation’s leading companies, across a variety of industries. Mr. Hirst served as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for KB Home Corporation. Previously, he has served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Burger King Corporation, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Northwest Airlines and Vice President and General Counsel of Continental Airlines. Mr. Hirst began his career as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court and later worked as an attorney with Langrock & Sperry. With over 35 years of experience spread across the transportation, restaurant, legal and real estate industries, he will assist Trinity as it expands its growing efforts with leading middle market companies.
